Genuine Citrine is naturally light yellow. Amethyst exposed to high pressure and heat in the earth fades over time and turns into Citrine. It is very slow process.

Burnt Citrine is Amethyst that has been heat treated to speed up the process to citrine. This variety of citrine is a little more yellow in color than the untreated one.
